On Friday, January 24, an Anti-Bullying Awareness Program will be held at Dan McCarty School, Dr. David Washington, principal. A drama, Billy and the Bully, will highlight the affair. It is one that you do not want to miss. The messages give both student and parent tools needed to help make our schools safer places.
The drama, written by Dorothy Haynes (Smith), will be performed by SLC area school students. The students portray their parts magnificently as they show how today’s taunting has become a serious offense that needs to be acted upon with tougher laws. The drama also recognizes the “tough guy” game and how bad behavior causes fear or inadequacy in others, which can lead to death. The story brings smiles, frowns and tears.
Cafeteria doors will open at 6:00 pm. The program will start promptly at 6:30 pm.
Free admission for students, SLC faculty members and guest.
